Rich Loen, Founder, CTO

An entrepreneur since slightly before birth, Rich Loen is the founder and CTO of InGenius. Rich graduated from electrical engineering at Carleton in 1984 and has founded a number of companies in Ottawa including InGenius Engineering Inc., InGenius Software Inc., sofTV.net, Rewind Technologies, and IceRadio.com. Among other awards, Rich won the Young Entrepreneur of the Year award in 1998. Rich owns more than 50 Hawaiian shirts.  Rich has led InGenius for over 20 years, and vet all team members for suitability from a technical and a team interaction perspective.

Since late 2003, Rich and Dale have worked together to refocus the company on software engineering in the telephony space, and professional services in the government sector.  They have launched a new Telephony Software Product line through InGenius Software Inc., InGenius Engineering’s sister company.  Revenues in InGenius have more than doubled since 2004.   

Dale Gantous, CEO

Dale Gantous is an executive with 25 years of management, sales, technical and marketing experience in the software and telecom sectors. She has a B.Sc. Honours Math, Minor Computer Science from McGill University 1979.

Dale began her career in Telesat Canada ’s Space Systems Department, where she first specialized in satellite control systems and software development – beginning her career as a proverbial rocket scientist. She worked on 5 spacecraft launch teams, where she planned and executed complex, real-time satellite in-orbit thruster-firing manoeuvres (fun stuff!). Dale then ran the in-orbit payload test system for the satellite communications transponders. She was promoted to manage the network management and control systems for Telesat’s voice, data, and video networks and corporate WAN. Dale moved into marketing as head of Product Management for Telesat's VSAT packet data network service, and became Program Manager for the development of Integrated Satellite and Terrestrial Telecommunications Services, working closely with Bell Canada . 

In 1993 Rich asked Dale to join InGenius Engineering Inc. as CEO, where she currently runs InGenius is a software engineering and consulting firm specializing in software development for mission critical applications for customers in the telephony, video, and government sectors. InGenius successfully spun off 2 sister companies under her direction in 1998: Rewind Technologies, a data backup company, and sofTV.net, an innovative software product company offering streaming video solutions to education, high-tech, and government customers. Dale led Rewind through a 1 year start-up phase, after which the company operated very profitably for 4 years. Dale then led sofTV.net for 4 years, spending much time collaborating with west-coast partners including Microsoft, Real Networks, and Yahoo Broadcast Services. SofTV.net completed the sale of its streaming software product line to xStream Software of Ottawa in 2004.

Dale is now CEO of InGenius Engineering Inc., focused on providing Software Engineering to Telephony companies and Professional Services to the Government Sector; and InGenius Software Inc., providing Telephony product solutions to Telephone Manufacturers and Telephony Service Providers.
