InGenius Broadcast Alert Mass Notification System
InGenius Broadcast Alert is a mass notification system that sends alerts to Mitel 53xx series phones, and to PC screens throughout an organization. It can be used for anything from “lights on” in the parking lot, to campus wide evacuation alerts. The system is easy to install and maintain.
What do people love about it?
Alerts show up on phones and PC's Alerts can be displayed on Mitel 53xx series phones, and on PC’s. Take advantage of the “always on” nature of your phone system to ensure that alerts arrive even if the power is out. And send alerts to desktop PC's and laptops.
Easy to maintain. We've designed Broadcast Alert to be easy to maintain. There is no need to add new clients to the system, or manage zones. Clients add themselves! The system can be configured to manage zones by IP address ranges and other automatic means - so that clients automatically join the correct zone. As laptop users move around a campus, they automatically join the zone for the building they're in!
It’s easy to customize. Configure pre-built templates for the alerts to may want to send. Zones can be buildings, floors of a building, phones or PC's, etc. Each zone can have it's own exit graphics and text. Alerts can be triggered from the main console application, or can be triggered, securely, via email.
Send an alert in as little as ONE CLICK! Alert templates allow you to define zones and alert text and graphics beforehand.
Who wants it?
- The Head of Security
- Senior Management
- Public Institutions
- Enterprises
- Every organization who wants to notify their staff and users of trouble
How Does Broadcast Alert Work?
- Broadcast Alert client runs on Mitel 53xx phones and on PC's.
- Console operator issues an alert. Chooses zone(s), title, text, etc. Clicks Send.
- Alert appears on all 53xx phones and PC's in the target zones
- Console operator can monitor progress of the alert, and can detect any users who respond with "I need help!" Operator can modify or cancel the alert at any time.
Technical Features
- Works with Mitel 3300 IP-PBX and Mitel 5320, 5330, 5340, 5360 phones.
- Very small footprint PC client application runs in system tray. Client works on Windows XP and Vista.
- Server application runs on Windows Server 2003 SP2 or higher with IIS 6.0+ and Active Directory
- Clients poll into central server - so server is always aware of the number of active clients in each zone, and can handle clients moving from zone to zone automatically. Polling rate can be adjusted to suit traffic requirements.
- Alerts can be one of 3 levels: "Informational," "Warning," or "Emergency" The higher the level of alert, the more likely it is to attract your attention in your office.
- Phones can display blinking lights, and can beep while displaying an alert. The alert does not interfere with the operation of the phone, and does not load down the 3300 in any way.
- PC's can display the alert as a "toast" pop-up in the tray, or as a window or full screen alert with graphics, text and an audio message. Alerts can optionally lock out the PC - so the user is not tempted to finish that one last bit of work!
- The system supports different levels of console users, including Administrators, Alert Creators, and Monitors. Monitors can view alert progress and update alert notes. Users are configured using Active Directory permissions.
- Alert templates can easily be modified by changing the template's HTML.
- Each zone can have a custom exit directions graphic and audio, or can use default settings. For example, if an alert is sent to an entire campus, each building can have custom meeting points specified in a graphical map.
- If distress calls are received, the system attempts to identify the user in distress, and will display all available Active Directory information for the user.
- A built in Alert Notes feature allows security personnel to add annotations to distress calls.
Is Broadcast Alert guaranteed to alert everyone?
No. Broadcast Alert is a "best effort" tool, designed to alert many people quickly. It does not guarantee that every person on campus will be alerted.
Will Broadcast Alert overload my 3300 in an emergency?
No. Broadcast Alert clients are receiving the alert from it's web server. The 3300 is not involved in sending the alert to phones or PC desktops.
